Michigan Persona Project
Preparing early childhood colleagues to support the promise of each Michigan child.
The Michigan Persona Project began in 2021 to create high-quality instructional resources for faculty and professional learning providers. Now, Michigan personas are used widely across Michigan and in other states to strengthen coursework, coaching, and professional development. The Michigan Persona Project eBook Parts 1 & 2 and the Alignment Framework are available—click the folders below to access the resources.
What's a Persona?
Personas are brief, narrative profiles of a child and family that include the family context, the child’s interests and learning style, and relevant factors such as disability services, dual language learning, or challenging life circumstances. Each persona also includes a photo that brings the story to life. Faculty use personas to help students practice individualizing instruction and applying evidence-based practices.
This project is supported by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act through grants from the Michigan Department of Education. For more information about the Michigan Personas Project, contact Kari Holmberg at holmberg_k@ccresa.org.
