Supporting Young Children Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

November 13, 2020

Training is from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

This workshop will be held over two half-day sessions on November 13, 2020, and January 15, 2021.

Young children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) have unique learning needs. Attend this two-part virtual workshop to learn about tools and resources to help identify the needs of children, birth through preschool, who are DHH. Gain knowledge of language and communication approach options, evidence-based practices, and resources for ongoing learning and networking in your role of serving and supporting young children who are DHH and their families. SCECHs are pending.

Workshop content will be relevant to:

  • Early On providers or primary service providers in Michigan at the beginner knowledge level regarding the needs of children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • School personnel in Michigan with advanced knowledge of children who are DHH, but beginner knowledge level regarding the needs of young children ages birth to five
  • Teams in Michigan are also encouraged to attend; team members must join individually if they wish to receive credits (all participants must register separately; group registrations are not allowed)
