2018 IDA Training

The Infant-Toddler Developmental Assessment (IDA) is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, family-centered, infant-toddler evaluation process, which has been approved by Michigan Department of Education and may be used to determine eligibility for Early On Michigan and on-going assessment. The IDA is intended for use by professionals from various disciplines who are responsible for assessing the development of infants and toddlers.

The IDA Training is offered in three modules:

  • Module 1: The first section is on-line training, covering evaluation process and phases, the assessment, administration of tasks, and documentation. This on-line session will provide you the opportunity to learn at your own pace and can be utilized as an ongoing resource in the future. When you register for the online training, you will be sent a link to access the online material.
  • Module 2: Section two is offered in a one day Practicum, in-person training, and will focus on the application of knowledge gained in section one the on-line training. When you register for the Practicum at the location of your choice, you are required to have completed the on-line prerequisite material.
  • Module 3: To complete the training, each participant will be responsible for video-taping an administration of the IDA and the parent interview and submitting it for review. After reviewing the taping and reporting and successful feedback a certificate of completion will be are awarded.

You must register for Module 1: Online Training and Module 2: Practicum separately.
