Time:

Training is from 9:30 AM to 12:00 AM

Cost:

No Fee

Details:

This interactive training will introduce participants to a new parent-child interaction guide
and strategies to strengthen service providers’ observation and practice skills to support
critical relationship-based attunement between infants, toddlers, and the adults who
care for them.  This training was developed as part of follow-up to a 2021 survey
completed by Early On coordinators and service providers in which over 90% of all
respondents felt that access to parent-child observation tools, training on those
tools, and strategies to support parent-child interaction would be most helpful for
strengthening parent-child observation practices. Join this training to learn together with
peers, practice observation using videos of MI families, discuss how to use observations
with families and how to incorporate information into functional goals.
Participants will:
 Participants will understand how secure relationships support brain development,
emotional regulation, and overall well-being in infants and toddlers.
 Participants will learn how to objectively observe and document interactions,
recognizing essential elements such as serve-and-return exchanges, emotional
connections, and responsiveness.
 Participants will practice effectively communicating their observations with caregivers
in a strengths-based, culturally responsive manner to support parent engagement
and early intervention planning.

This training event is eligible for 2.50 hours of State Continuing Education Clock
