This training provides a comprehensive overview of the Developmental Assessment of Young Children - Second Edition (DAYC-2) tool. Participants will learn how to effectively use the DAYC-2 for determining eligibility for Early On Michigan services, including:

Basic refresher of Early On Michigan eligibility

Administering assessment components, scoring procedures, basal/ceiling determination, and calculating scores.

Exploring the practical benefits and limitations of the DAYC-2 in Early On.

Engaging in guided trial runs and practice scenarios to build proficiency.
The Developmental Assessment of Young Children – Second Edition (DAYC-2) is used to identify children from birth through 5 years 11 months with possible delays in the following domains: Cognition, Communication, Social-Emotional Development, Physical Development, and Adaptive Behavior. The DAYC-2 format allows examiners to obtain information about a child’s abilities through observation, interview of caregivers, and direct assessment.
SCECHs:
This training event is eligible for 2.75 hours of State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs).
