This training is focused on the newest version of the old Premature and Young Infant Development Scale (PYIDS) and is called the Premature and Young Infant Developmental Assessment Tool (PYIDAT). This training is part of a research study being conducted by Grand Valley State University (GVSU) to ensure the reliability and validity of this tool. This study is being funded through a grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
GVSU is offering this free one-day training on how to use this tool. Requirements for participants include:
1. passing a training test
2. introducing the study to your families
3. obtaining consent
4. using the tool for your assessment
5. scanning the assessment and sharing it with the researchers
Resources will be available online before and after the training for continued reference and support. GVSU is planning to collect data for approximately one full year.
