We all know child assessment is required for GSRP and can even describe why it is important. But, what story does it tell? Can you answer the what, why, when, how and where of the assessment taking place in your classrooms? Learn how to get information out of your online child assessment tool and how to use that data for continuous improvement and to strengthen local administrative quality.

The morning will consist of a review of the value of child assessment and GSRP requirements related to child assessment.  Liz Walker, ECS; Kendra Curtiss-Tomaski, ECC/ECS; and Cheryl LaRose, ECS; will discuss how they communicate with teachers about child assessment and how they monitor fidelity to the child assessment tool.

In the afternoon participants will break into two groups by the two most frequently used child assessment tools in Michigan - OnlineCOR/COR Advantage and TS GOLD.

OnlineCOR/COR Advantage

High Scope trainers Beth Marshall and Suzanne Gainsley will lead a discussion directly related to the OnlineCOR/COR Advantage assessment.  Discussion will include how to use data to support individualization for intentional teaching and developmental gains for all children, validity expectations, how an ECS can monitor quality of anecdotes and quantity of anecdotes across domains, as well as other related topics.

TS GOLD

Teaching Strategies representative Sandra Faria will lead a discussion directly related to the TS GOLD assessment. Discussion will include how to use data to support individualization for intentional teaching and developmental gains for all children, validity expectations, how an ECS can monitor quality of anecdotes and quantity of anecdotes across domains, as well as other related topics.

Lunch is included for this training.
