Determinations |
The federal Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) requires that each state must: (1) publicly report each service area’s data related to the State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR) indicators; and (2) make a determination for each service area based on data related to the SPP/APR indicators. OSEP has designated four levels:
- meets requirements
- needs assistance
- needs intervention
- needs substantial intervention
Each service area received its letter of determination in July 2007. All service areas that did not receive a determination of “meets requirements” must submit an improvement plan to the MDE by September 14, 2007.
